Why I choose full grain leather
When I choose leather for a bag, I’m not looking for perfection. I’m looking for something that will last—and something that feels real.
Full-grain leather is the highest quality leather available. It’s the outer layer of the hide, left largely as it is, without being heavily processed or corrected. Because of that, it carries subtle variations—small marks, gentle creases, and natural shifts in tone.
I take a lot of care when selecting hides, looking for pieces that are as consistent in colour and texture as possible, so the finished bag feels balanced and considered. The quiet, subtle imperfections are part of the story—a reminder that this leather once belonged to a living animal, not a factory line.
Over time, full-grain leather softens and deepens. It develops a patina shaped by use, light, touch, and travel. It doesn’t wear out—it settles in. Each piece becomes uniquely yours.
This is a very intentional choice. Full-grain leather isn’t the easiest material to work with, but it’s strong, repairable, and made for longevity. It allows me to create bags that are meant to be used every day, not kept perfect— pieces that can age alongside you.
If you’d like to see this leather in its most timeless form, the Classic Shopper is a good place to start. It’s simple, durable, and designed to carry a life well lived.
Some stories don’t need to be loud. They’re told slowly, over time.
