An actual conversation with a client

An actual conversation with a client

Something happened in April that I haven't been able to stop thinking about. A message came in over the long weekend. Someone taking a chance—do I do custom orders?

I do. I said to send photos.

What came next brought a smile to my face.

This person is attending an event in October—the 30-year anniversary celebration of Tomb Raider. And what they want is a replica of the main character's backpack. As accurate as possible.

So I asked, "As in... Lara Croft?"

Reply "That's correct."

"My name is Lara 😅"

Reply "No ways!"

The connection had been completely missed—straight to the number, straight to the message. "I saw woman owned and just ran for the number"—entirely missing the footer on my About Me page where I sign off as *Keeper of the Croft.*

We both had a good laugh, and then we got to work.

I love this part of what I do. Not just the making—but the moments where a bag becomes part of someone's story. A 30-year celebration. A character they love. A craftsperson who happens to share the name.

The Lara Croft bag is now in progress in the workshop. I'll be sharing updates as it comes together.

If you've ever wondered about a custom piece—something made specifically for you, in your colours, for your life—my inbox is always open.

Until next month,
Lara—Keeper of the Croft
